  • The Bay Area's publication dedicated to dance, In Dance is known for its engaging interviews with local and visiting artists, articles that explore everything from how to tour your work abroad to activism in art, and an extensive calendar of Bay Area dance events. We feature timely information that includes auditions, jobs, and classified ads that reflect the eclectic and diverse SFBA dance community.     Calendar Listings
    Please email us a brief description that includes a brief description of the performance and: dates, times, ticket price, venue, venue address, box office number and website if available. Please send your information to
    alice@dancersgroup.org by the first of the month prior to the publication issue.

    Please send photos in digital format by the first of the month prior to the publication issue. (Same deadline as calendar listings.) Send no more than 2 photos per company or choreographer.

    Image Guidelines
  • Resolution: 300 dpi or higher
  • Size: At least 4 inches by 6 inches
  • Format: Preferred format is highest quality .JPG
  • Name: Please include the company name in the title of each file.
  • Caption: Please list photographer's name and the names of all performers pictured. NOTE: we credit up to 4 performers per photo.

    Have an idea for a story?
    In Dance welcomes ideas for stories at anytime, be they related to production, community, performance, health, or any other issue that is of interest to the dance community. Proposals are invited both from writers wishing to cover an event or issue and community members who would like to see a particular topic addressed by an In Dance writer. Please email your one to two paragraph story idea to Wayne Hazzard at
    wayne@dancersgroup.org. For stories on performances or other timed events, please submit your proposal three (3) months in advance of the event.
